Greetings All,

Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year – creating many opportunities to worship together. We will gather in the morning for an informal service and then again, later in the day, for our usual three Christmas Eve services. While each service will be crafted with a slightly different tone and tenor everyone, adults and kids alike are welcome at any service:

10:15 a.m. — SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE Anne Watson Born and I will lead simple service of music and readings. There will be no Religious Education Classes or Childcare.

5:00 p.m. — CHRISTMAS PAGEANT Please join us for a multigenerational celebration of birth of Jesus and some favorite holiday carols.

7:00 p.m. — LESSONS AND CAROLS This year will be a slightly different telling of the nativity story. We will of course name all the newborns of the last year, light candles and singing traditional Christmas hymns.

11:30 p.m. — READINGS, MUSIC, CANDLELIGHT AND QUIET All are welcome to gather together for this service of less traditional readings, music and candlelight. This service will give us all a chance to center ourselves after the rush of the holidays. If you would like to be one of the readers for this service please contact Erin.

MINISTER’S DISCRETIONARY FUND: This Fund exists at the heart of our common ministry. It is used throughout the year to help members of our community, both here at FUUSN and the larger community of which we are a part, find a way through difficult times. In the past the Fund has helped pay a utility bill, or bought heating oil, or helped with a medical expense, or offset someone’s rent. If this is a year that finds you feeling comfortable with your finances please consider donating to the Fund. As usual the plate at the first two Christmas Eve Services will be designated for the Fund. If you are not planning on attending either of those services please consider sending a donation to the office with a notation that it is for our Minister’s Discretionary Fund.
