Coffee hour is a vital part of Unitarian Universalist community life. At FUUSN, coffee hour is a meaningful gathering held regularly after Sunday services in the Parish Hall.  All are invited and encouraged to join us and connect with long-time friends and newcomers alike!  Community members chat about the sermon, catch up with friends, and welcome all those visiting us. Coffee hour also provides opportunities to connect with activities– to sign up for adult or children’s religious education classes, volunteer to help at the Holiday Fair, or learn about the newest efforts of our Social Action Council.

FUUSN’s coffee hour is fueled by regular and decaf fair trade coffees, teas, and chocolate. Our efforts are part of the UUSC Coffee Project partners UUSC with Equal Exchange, a worker-owned fair trade organization.

“With this project, something as simple as the cup of coffee we drink at our social hour becomes an opportunity to put into practice the U.U. principles, ‘to affirm human dignity’ and to ‘respect the interdependent web of all existence of which we are all a part.'” – Michael Arnott, member First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton, MA
