Fun Facts About RE Volunteers

Did you know that 15 of our RE teachers from this year are also signed up to teach again next year? And another 13 who signed up to teach next year have taught previously? Must be a good gig, right? Or there is that fact that our RE program is a cooperative program, meaning that families are expected to teach or volunteer in a meaningful way every other year, so maybe that accounts for returning teachers? Partially true, but 8 of those 13 have no kids in the RE program at all!

Whatever their motivation we are truly grateful to all the people who work tirelessly to keep our RE program going strong – Children’s RE teachers, OWL teachers, Coming of Age coordinators and mentors, Youth advisors, Adult program facilitators, and all the other volunteers who pitch in as needed. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We couldn’t do it without you!                                                                         -Kim Shanks, on behalf of the RE council
