FUUSN is getting A Penny Today, AND a Dime Tomorrow

The FUUSN Legacy Circle comprises members and friends who have included FUUSN in their estate plans, and the mission of the Legacy Circle is to help support FUUSN financially for future generations. The Legacy Circle Committee is responsible for encouraging FUUSN members and friends to join the Legacy Circle, especially in order to grow our permanent endowment.

Due to the commitments of Legacy Circle members during 2018 and 2019, FUUSN will receive a total of $36.2K from the UUA over the next 9 months through the Wake Now Our Vision campaign that was administered by the UUA through a grant from the UU congregation at Shelter Rock. The WNOV campaign, which has now ended, distributed $5 million in matching funds to UU congregations where members made qualified bequests to their congregation. The bequests were matched “1 to 10”. We already have received the first two installments totaling $18,100! During the WNOV campaign, FUUSN received more than $440K of new bequest commitments.

The Board of Trustees has voted that these matching funds from the UUA will be directed to the Board Designated Endowment. Each year a small percentage of the endowment is withdrawn to offset expenses. FUUSN’s permanent endowment is currently about $2 million. Growing our endowment is a critical priority that has been set by the Finance committee because it helps to insure the future financial and operational strength of FUUSN.
