Keeping in touch at FUUSN

There are lots of ways that FUUSN’s congregation and staff stay in touch; this note is to list some of the electronic groups you may want to join.
• Web site: We have an extensive web site with information about FUUSN and its activities at http://old2023.fusn.org. Some pages on the site require a password to protect personal information; people who are involved with the congregation can register for access at http://old2023.fusn.org/blog/newsletter or by sending an email request to webster@fusn.org.
• Newsletter: The staff prepares a weekly newsletter with information about upcoming services and activities, plus other topics of interest. The newsletter is distributed by email, and you can sign up to receive it at http://old2023.fusn.org/blog/newsletter.
• Directory: There is an on-line membership directory called Realm. Inclusion is optional, and access requires a separate password. Instructions to join are at: http://old2023.fusn.org/member-directory/
• Facebook: We have two separate areas on Facebook: the FUSN “private group” consists of anyone who participates in FUUSN activities and wants to communicate through Facebook. Search Facebook “groups” for “First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton” to join. The First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton “page” is visible to anyone, and advertises FUUSN and its activities. The page is updated by the staff.
• Email listserv: There are two email distribution lists that can be used by anyone who has signed up by sending email to jud.leonard@gmail.com. The “business” list (fusn-business@lists.fusn.org) should only be used for announcements of activities sponsored by the church. The “general” list (fusn@lists.fusn.org, or sometimes called the magic list) includes almost anything, including items needed, or to sell or give away, contractors to use or avoid, politics, entertainment, etc. Everything mailed to the business list is also distributed to those on the general list. And if you’d rather get a once-a-day summary of the day’s messages, just ask for the digest.
• FUUSN Yellow Pages: Recommendations of vendors and services by members of the congregation can be found at http://old2023.fusn.org/fusn-yellow-pages/. You will need to sign up for your own password by contacting webster@fusn.org.
• Religious Education: contact Amanda Graff (amanda@fusn.org) to receive information about RE programs and activities.
• Interest groups: Several email groups serve specific subsets of the congregation: contact Greg Sullivan (gregs@sulliwood.org) to join the Care Crew or to be on the mailing lists for Over 60’s or Gen XYZ.
