Musings

Happy New Year!

The Annual FUUSN Musicians Concert will be held in our Sanctuary at 1:00 p.m., on February 11. We are so fortunate to have so many talented musicians in our congregation. The concert on Feb 11 will feature: classical works played by Lois Shapiro, Debra Minard, and Paul Antonucci; and original compositions by Adam Epstein, Chip Highfield, and Bob MacWilliams, as well as favorite tunes played by the FUUSN Band.

We’re always looking for more people to play – email music@fusn.org if you’d like to participate!

The Sanctuary Choir will have a busy spring, helping as always to lead worship and in addition preparing music for these special events: Music Sunday on March 25, Mandy Beal’s ordination on April 22, and a UU community performance on April 28 of The Immigrant Experience, a new work by John Kramer, music director at our Winchester congregation. John calls this work for chamber ensemble, choir and soloists “a powerful statement against the anti-immigrant rhetoric coming out of Washington. My vision is to have a large choir proclaiming our UU values of love and inclusion of all people.”

You are invited to join the Sanctuary Choir to sing in any or all of these events, but of course, it is the joyful work of singing in our worship services each week that brings the choir members into community. We’d love to have you join us – rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7.30-9pm and on Sunday mornings.                                                                                                                                                                                                       -Anne Watson Born
