In case of fire, flood/water line breaks, earthquake and, most likely here in New England, snow and ice, we will do our best to make a decision by late afternoon/early evening on Saturday to cancel Sunday service. Any time we think we need to close the building, we will post on the business list, the FUUSN Facebook page and the web site. We will also do our best to put a message on the office phone and add our name to local tv and radio lists of closings.
Our decision will rely in part on when the City of Newton declares a snow emergency as well as how clear West Newton Square is expected to be. If we get significant snow/ice, finding somewhere safe to park near FUUSN will be impossible. Though some of you might be able to walk to FUUSN on Sunday morning, staff might have a more difficult time getting to Newton. Of course, we will always abide by the wishes of the Governor and Mayor if they ask us to stay off the roads.
Should we be able to hold services/meetings, please be alert to local parking conditions. If the snow in the Santander Bank parking lot or elsewhere has not been plowed, you will be towed if you park there. If you are in any doubt of your ability to make it to FUUSN, please put your safety and that of your car, first. We will appreciate your thoughtfulness and welcome you back when conditions are safer. Happy winter!
