Special Collection Alert: On May 6, the Mental Health Task Force of FUUSN is offering an opportunity during the service to support the needs of our local Newton Wellesley affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Our affiliate is a non-profit volunteer mental health organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in 9 communities for all those affected by mental health conditions. We do this through education with the 12 week Family to Family program for caregivers, through support with monthly Family Support Groups, and through advocacy to our legislature by visits, calls, and emails.

Our affiliate has basic operating expenses, but more is needed to adequately serve the need.
We want to get the word out to reduce stigma and advocate for more and better mental health services. We recently partnered with NAMI MASS, Mass Department of Mental Health, Mass Health, and Mass Rehab Commission to publicize the changes in how services are to be delivered.
