How can we build Beloved Community?

Hello again from the FUUSN Committee for Adoption of the 8^th Principle!

We invite you to join us in continuing the congregation-wide conversation about the proposed 8^th principle that started with the beautiful Sunday Service on January 30. We will have a series of Listening Circles (on Zoom) for all of us to learn more about the 8^th principle, to discuss what it will mean for FUUSN to adopt the 8^th principle, and to share our thoughts, feelings, and concerns.

We believe many of you are generally supportive of FUUSN adopting the 8^th principle. We also know that there are legitimate questions and concerns about taking this next step as a congregation. This is an opportunity for us to listen deeply to one another and to explore together the significance of adopting the 8^th principle.

We hope that our congregation will vote to adopt the 8^th Principle at our annual meeting in June. Over 150 other UU congregations have already joined in support of our UU siblings in the BIPOC community who crafted the 8^th Principle. Please help us to continue building the Beloved Community envisioned by Dr. Martin Luther King and Rep. John Lewis, both at FUUSN and in the broader UUA community.
