We pulled it off in amazing fashion once again! So many people contributed so much to make this wonderful event fun for all. We cannot name all of the volunteers and contributors but here are some notable ones who constitute the long time fair team.
Denise Bousquet collects jewelry all year and you will see the most recent donations next year. Her great team sorts, arranges and collates the good, the bad and the amazingly ugly heirlooms we no longer need to keep. Denise not only does intensive jewelry management but sets up the outside signs and keeps the electronic sign up going.
Kit Ryan is key member of the longtime Silent Auction team, collecting and storing items for that all year while quilting for the raffle (which I hope to win some day). The Silent Auction team checks the value of each item to the best of their ability so that no amazing antique or collectible goes unnoticed.
Ruth Comstock perseveres in all details, keeps records of what we have done before, puts up signs and does publicity with Sandy Jones and walks thousands of steps during the Fair days averting catastrophes before they erupt.
Barbara Schmitt is our ruthless gift table leader, using her eagle eye to curate gifts and determine what should go to the Silent Auction, what goes to the gift table and what is yard sale quality. Our donations are in good hands under Barbara’s careful review.
Connie Stubbs and Sandy Jones lovingly collect toys and games and related matter and added activity tables this year. They start with the Yard Sale team as do all the Fair Committee members and sort between the two events.
Lisa Gresser and Lucy Boyle head our amazing wreath table and pivoted smartly when the supply chain blew up this year leaving us wreathless. We had beautiful swags to console us and bring that wonderful smell home.
We cannot do without our other table leaders from Julia Wolfe and her artful and delicious bake table, Cindy Orrell and those beautiful crafts, Mike Arnott and the carefully chosen fair trade products, and Stu Gladstone and Lynne Karlson who sort our hundreds of books.
And heartfelt thanks to everyone else who set up, sorted, baked, pickled, wrapped, decorated, posted, sold and cleaned up. We are an amazing community!
We will report on our financial results when all the expenses are in. Stay tuned.
