I asked our grown children what their favorite things were as kids on Sandy Island:
- “Kayaking around the island, s’mores and campfire, talent show, four square, softball, scavenger hunts. Freedom.”
- “Bocce, the softball game, ultimate frisbee, getting soda and snacks at the store, ping pong, walking around the island, basketball, swimming to the rock, foosball, air hockey.”
I remember them weeping as we pulled out of the parking lot on our way home.
Our adult son still goes to Sandy Island with his FUUSN friends . We wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Our annual retreat is on Memorial Day Weekend (May 27-29) on Sandy Island in Lake Winnepesauke in NH! This event is open to FUUSNites and their families/friends (no pets). Come to relax and make new connections in the FUUSN community, as well as renew existing ones.
This year we have 2 ways to register: online and on paper. Online registration is encouraged (use link below). Because we’re not yet set up to process electronic payments, you’ll still need to print & complete a brief fee calculation form and mail it along with a payment check and a self-addressed stamped envelope (so that we can send you your luggage tags). Please mail these items so that they are received by Friday, May 19th. If this deadline poses a problem for you, email Denise Bousquet at <sandyisland@fusn.org>.
Fees for Sandy Island this year: Adults (18 yrs.+) $250. Children/teens (2-17 yrs.) $155. Under 2: free. If financial assistance is needed, email Denise at <sandyisland@fusn.org> (All requests remain confidential).
