The Community Day Center of Waltham sees about 30 people a day, mostly men between the ages of 45 and 65. Most of the folks struggle with addiction, in the form of drug/substance abuse and/or alcoholism. As the only wet shelter in the area, it welcomes those who aren’t permitted into the dry shelters. The volunteers provide for both people looking for help for the first time and those who are chronically homeless by creating a culture of dignity, respect, and compassion. Many of our congregation have been helpful in bringing clothes and food to the Center, for which the Center and its guests are grateful. Please be generous and make checks payable to “Community Day Center.”
