Family Social Action Project This Sunday

On Sunday, October 29, at 11:45 a.m., FUUSN kids of all ages are invited to gather in the Head Start Room and assemble 50 health kits for the Community Day Center of Waltham, a program where a number of FUUSN members volunteer. The health kits will be distributed to our homeless neighbors, in keeping with the first UU principle regarding the inherent dignity and worth of every person.

The health kits will include hand-written cards to be made by the kids, as well as the supplies that the congregation has so kindly donated over the last two weeks. Children age 10 and under should be accompanied by an adult. It is helpful, but not required, to RSVP at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/508044baba82da46-health (no account or password is necessary).

Immediately afterwards, families are invited to follow Nancy Stanton in their own cars to the Community Day Center (16 Felton St, Waltham) to drop off the donations and receive a quick tour of the CDC from the Executive Director, and then walk over to Taqueria Restaurant (24 Charles Street, Waltham) for a kid-friendly Dutch treat lunch. Lunch RSVPs to Nancy via the email address below are appreciated but not required.

We hope that your kids can take advantage of this very special opportunity to put their faith in action.  If you have any questions, please contact Susan Timberlake at s.timberlake@gmail.com (about the making of the kits) or Nancy Stanton at nancystanton817@gmail.com (about the visit to the CDC and lunch).

Many thanks to Susan and Nancy for making this opportunity available to our kids!
