The Multicultural Ministry Initiative announces the formation of a small discussion group on the book Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. This powerful, readable account of our current criminal justice system is written by a renowned, committed lawyer, professor of law at New York University Law School, author, public speaker, and founder of Equal Justice Initiative in Montgomery, Alabama. Stevenson brings to the fore challenges and heart shocking practices in our justice system and provides a “must read” book to fully grasp the immediate need for essential reform and the truth of “Love is the motive, but justice is the instrument” -Reinhold Niebuhr.
This book discussion group is scheduled to meet for four sessions on Monday evenings from 7 to 9 pm on Sept. 24, Oct. 1, Oct. 15 and Oct. 22. in the FUUSN Alliance Room. Our meetings will be led by Demie Stathoplos and Wendy Haskell. Participants may be in the process of reading the book. Please join us.
