Summer is upon us! Here are some local musical events to attend:

Zamir Goes Baroque!                                                                                        Wed, May 23, 7:30 p.m. and Thu, May 24, 7:30 p.m., Brandeis University https://zamir.org Led by Artistic Director Josh Jacobson, the Zamir Chorale of Boston will explore rarely heard Jewish polyphony from the 17th and early 18th centuries. Zamir will be joined by an instrumental ensemble, led by renowned violinist Daniel Stepner. NB: our bass section leader, Luca Antonucci, is the conducting intern for Zamir Chorale.

“Every End Is a New Beginning” MIT Cambridge Chinese Choral Society (CCCS) Saturday, May 26, 7:30 p.m. at MIT Kresge Auditorium. https://mitcccs.org                                                                                        Coinciding with the centennial of the end of World War I and taking place on Memorial Day weekend, the program revolves around themes of parting and remembrance. The centerpiece of the concert is Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light: A Requiem, while the Chinese-language selections give a nod to graduating students and the immigrant community, for whom parting is an inevitable shared experience.

Rainbow Connection: Pride                                                                              Thu, May 31, 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. https://www.bostonchoral.org Start Pride Week on the right note — Join Boston Choral Ensemble for our fourth concert of the season, Rainbow Connection: Pride! During this concert we will celebrate LGBTQIA+ colleagues with music and texts by LGBTQIA+ writers and composers.

Visions of Shalom                                                                                              Sun, June 10, 7:30 p.m, Temple Reyim Tenor soloist Cantor Peter Halpern and clarinetist Cantor Becky Khitrik join Koleinu in music by Bonia Shur, unique and beautiful Sabbath settings of Frederick Piket, and the thrilling music of Leonard Bernstein, along with other choral offerings.
