January 1 – Quaker Service

The theme for January is Renewal

We hold a lot of expectations for the fresh winds of energy and resolve that are to come with the new calendar year. We get a lot of pressure to start that exercise routine or get better at managing our calendars or our waistlines, but what about our wishes and hopes for the change that is needed in the world? How do we renew the spirit within us to keep moving forward?

Quaker Service led by Anne Watson Born

“…group silence is a type of communion, using both the religious and secular meaning of the word. We are taking sustenance and solace from each other, receiving a blessing of the spirit. We are also communing together, experiencing community, in silence with each other. We are all focused on becoming present to ourselves so that we can become present to others.” (Heather McRae-Wolf)
